One picture.

The entire project started with one black and white picture taken by Roman Lipski during his time in Los Angeles. The photograph shows a typical LA scenery: a city by night, a winding street, some trees, a house in a distance, the horizon, one moment in time.

Like the invention of the camera helped artists explore new perspectives, artificial intelligence, used in this manner, can ultimately introduce a new way of seeing the world. Roman Lipski and the art collective YQP and Birds on Mars are furthering the discourse around artificially creative systems at a point in time where the interactivity between man and machine is becoming commonplace.

The exhibition ‘Living in the Present Future’ at The National Museum Szczecin brings together artists who emphasize an ever-stronger fusion of body and consciousness with technology (Roman Lipski, Amalie Smith, Lea Guldditte Hestelund); those who are familiar with man’s close relationship with nature and non-human life (Artur Malewski, Ewa Juszkiewicz, Emil Westman Hertz), and those focusing on the ethical and existential dimensions of life in a rapidly changing world (Izabella Gustowska, Aneta Grzeszykowska, Peter Frimand, SUPERFLEX).
